Mountain garden with a natural swimming pond

Location: Beskid Wyspowy (Island Beskids)

This garden lies on difficult, hilly ground in a stream valley, surrounded by fir forest. The main aim was to fit into the natural landscape, plant up the large slopes and create a secluded place for relaxing outdoors.

Natural swimming pond. The heart of the garden is a pond with timber jetties, divided into three zones: one for swimming, one with plants that clean the water naturally, and one where the owners will keep fish. Next to the pond there is a gravel beach surrounded by planting.

Pavilion and fire pit. A large stone and timber pavilion is the place to gather with family and guests. Nearby is a stone fire pit with loungers, surrounded by planting.

Slopes. We planted up the steep slopes and set the seating areas on several levels, connected by timber steps. A small vineyard was created on one of the slopes, and a wine cellar with a sheltered terrace for dining is built into its wall.

For children. A sports pitch and a play area for the youngest, with a berry patch.

Paths and planting. A wide gravel path leads from the house to the pond through beds of perennials flowering in shades of pink and purple. The planting blends smoothly into the surrounding forest.
